Terms & Conditions – 8-day Culinary Adventure in Central South

  1. The promoter of the giveaway is ChristchurchNZ, Level 3, 101 Cashel Street, Christchurch, 8011, New Zealand.
  2. To be eligible, entrants must complete all fields in the online competition form housed on the Central South website.
  3. By entering this competition, the entrant agrees that CNZ may collect their personal data. The data will only be used to contact the entrant directly if they are the winner, or add them to the Visit ŌCdatabase, to send them Visit ŌC communications if they choose to opt in. Their data will not be shared with third parties, and entrants can opt out of receiving newsletter updates at the time of entry or by unsubscribing at anytime.
  4. The competition is open to residents of Australia who are able to travel to Ōtautahi Christchurch, New Zealand. Entrants must be aged 18 years or older, and the winner must travel with a companion who is also aged 18 years or over. At least one traveller (the winner or their companion) must be aged 21 years or older and must hold a full, valid Australian or international driver's licence for the duration of the prize trip. ChristchurchNZ may request proof of age and a valid licence prior to travel. Failure to provide valid documentation upon request may result in forfeiture of any prize components that require a driver's licence, with no compensation provided.
  5. People who reside outside of Australia are not eligible to enter.
  6. Employees of ChristchurchNZ, Destination Kaikōura, Visit Hurunui, Venture Timaru, Mackenzie Tourism, and Development West Coast and their close relatives, and anyone otherwise connected with the organisations of the competition are not eligible to enter.
  7. Winners will be selected from all valid entries by ChristchurchNZ and at ChristchurchNZ’s discretion.
  8. Winners will be drawn at random at midday on Thursday, 30 April 2026, from eligible entries.
  9. Winners will be notified by email and phone at the conclusion of the competition by Friday, 1 May 2026.
  10. There is no entry fee to enter this competition.
  11. Only one entry per person.
  12. If a winner cannot be contacted by ChristchurchNZ within 48 hours of the notification, ChristchurchNZ reserves the right to re-select a replacement winner.
  13. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  14. ChristchurchNZ reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition, including the prizes, and these terms and conditions without notice because of circumstances outside of ChristchurchNZ's control. Any changes to the competition will be notified via relevant competition posts as soon as possible by the promoter.
  15. The prize giveaway is as stated, and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. Prizes are not transferable.
  16. Any additional costs incurred by the winner to redeem the prize(s), such as transport, food & beverage not included in the itinerary, room service, minibar, or any other surcharges which are not explicitly stated in the competition terms below, remain the sole responsibility of the winner.
  17. ChristchurchNZ reserves the right to disqualify any entry or refuse to award a prize where false or misleading details have been given or where an entrant has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner or otherwise than in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  18. ChristchurchNZ’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final.
  19. To the full extent permitted by law, ChristchurchNZ will not be liable to the winners in respect of any claim for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever (including, without limitation, any consequential, indirect special, punitive or incidental damages) or for any physical or mental injury suffered by the winner or accompanist as a result of in connection with the competition or by reason of the utilisation or application of any prize won in the competition.
  20. Winners agree to the use of his/her name and image and/or details of their entry in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to winners or any other entrant(s) will be used solely in accordance with current New Zealand data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without prior consent.   21. By entering the competition, winners agree to their names being published and to be photographed, filmed and/or interviewed by ChristchurchNZ, which may be used for publicity purposes.
  22. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, or any other social network. You are providing your information to ChristchurchNZ and not to any other party.
  23. If, for any reason, the prize cannot be accepted due to government travel restrictions, then the prize will be cancelled if alternative travel arrangements cannot be made.
  24. All prize elements offered are governed by the specific attraction or event's conditions of entry.
  25. If an item on the itinerary cannot be undertaken due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, ChristchurchNZ will work with the winner to determine a suitable back-up option.
  26. ChristchurchNZ and suppliers can change prizes at their discretion. ChristchurchNZ will endeavour to change prizes with suppliers to equal or greater value if it cannot be fulfilled.
  27. Package must be taken by 30 October 2026, with the winners arriving in Christchurch by or before this date.
    The following blackout dates apply: 4-19 July 2026 and 26 September to 11 October 2026.
  28. One prize consisting of 2x return international airfares departing from any international airport with direct flights into Christchurch (CHC), New Zealand: Sydney (SYD), Melbourne (MEL), Brisbane (BNE),  Gold Coast (OOL), Adelaide (ADL) and Cairns (CNS). All flights are subject to airline scheduling, availability, seasonal route operations and any operational changes made by the carrier. ChristchurchNZ reserves the right to select the airline, fare class, routing and flight times in its sole discretion. ChristchurchNZ may choose an indirect route if a direct flight is unavailable on the preferred travel dates. No compensation will be provided if the selected airline, fare type or routing differs from the winner’s preference.

    • Flights must be booked by Friday, 30 October 2026, to arrive on or before this date. The Prize winner and companion must travel together.
    • Each passenger will receive at minimum: standard seat selection, 7kg carry-on baggage, 20kg checked baggage and an in-flight meal deal.
    • The winner is responsible for their own expenses in relation to any travel required to get to the departure destination or other associated costs with claiming or using the Prize, including but not limited to accommodation, travel insurance, meals, spending money, visas/border entry requirements, ground transfer costs and any Government/airport levied taxes.
    • The winner (and their companion) is required to obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, cancellations, delays and any other reasonable travel-related risks for the duration of the trip. Proof of valid travel insurance must be provided to ChristchurchNZ prior to ticketing. Failure to obtain and provide proof of adequate travel insurance may result in forfeiture of the prize, and ChristchurchNZ will not be liable for any costs incurred due to the winner’s failure to comply with this requirement.
